Etta St. Water & Sewer Improvements, Sequim Ave to Sunnyside
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Rehabilitation of Etta Street will begin October 2. The work will generally take place Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with possible night work to be completed between 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The project is expected to take seven to eight weeks to complete.
The work will be performed at the following locations: Etta Street – Sequim Avenue to Sunnyside Avenue.
Residents can expect delays, localized closures, and detours during work hours. Resident access will be provided; however, residents are asked to heed flaggers, cones, and construction signage, and to be cognizant of large construction equipment and trucks and their backup alarms.
The work will include replacement of water and sewer lines, addition of stormwater facilities, new pavement, and other associated work. The work will be performed by Interwest Construction Inc., Lakeside Industries, Stripe Rite, Roadrunner Concrete Cutting, KD&S Environmental, and Clark Land Office.
Project is being funded by City Water and Sewer Funds.
Sequim Avenue Sidewalk and Bike Lane Project
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Construction is slated to begin October 30th, 2023 on the N Sequim Avenue Sidewalk and Bike Lanes project. The work will take place Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and is weather dependent. The project is expected to be completed by June 2024.
Work will be performed at the following locations: N Sequim Avenue, Sequim Dungeness Way, Port Williams Road, Old Olympic Highway
Residents can expect delays, localized closures, and detours during work hours. Resident access will be provided, however, residents are encouraged to heed flaggers, cones, and construction signage, and to be cognizant of large construction equipment and trucks and their backup alarms.
This project follows the Complete Streets model and will provide paved northbound and southbound lanes for vehicles and bike lanes for cyclists, as well as a two-way left hand turn lane down N Sequim Avenue. Pedestrians will notice improvements with the addition of concrete sidewalks on the west side of the street and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps at intersections. Other pedestrian improvements will include street lighting, landscaping, and crossing enhancements. The project is being funded by a Safe Routes to School (SRTS), Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) grant, City Real Estate Excise Tax, and City Transportation Benefit District funds. The work will be performed by Interwest Construction and various subcontractors.

Sequim Avenue Sidewalk and Bike Lane Project
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Rehabilitation of selected sections of N. Sequim Ave. is scheduled to begin in Spring 2024. The work will take place Monday through Friday 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The project is expected to take three to four weeks to complete and is weather dependent.
Work will be performed on N. Sequim Ave. from Washington Street to approximately 250 feet south of W. Deytona St.
Residents can expect delays, localized closures, construction noise, and detours during work hours. Resident access will be provided, however, residents are encouraged to heed flaggers, cones, and construction signage, and to be cognizant of large construction equipment and trucks and their backup alarms.
This project includes placement of Hot Mix Asphalt, milling, striping, and other associated work. The project is being funded by a Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) and City Transportation Benefit District (TBD) funds. The work will be performed by Lakeside Industries, PR Systems, and Stripe Rite

Sequim ADA Transition Plan
The City of Sequim is in the process of developing an ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Transition Plan to guide when and where mobility improvements need to be made. Our staff conducted an inventory of current pedestrian facilities throughout the entire city to find gaps in and barriers to accessibility. On September 11, the Sequim City Council moved the ADA Plan to a public hearing scheduled for 9/25.
Washington Street Traffic Signal Project
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Work began in March 2023 and will occur as needed until completion to rehabilitate selected signalized intersections along Washington St and 5th Ave, Mon-Fri, 7:00 am to 6:00 pm and is weather dependent. This project includes the replacement of existing traffic signal controllers, video detection, installation of new radios at the above-mentioned intersections and other associated work. The project is expected to provide more efficient traffic flow for both vehicles and pedestrians and reduce overall wait times.
Work will be performed at the following locations: W. Washington St and Sequim Ave; W. Washington St and 3rd Ave.; W Washington St. and 5th Ave.; W Washington St. and 7th Ave; N. 5th Ave and W. Fir St; and N. 5th Ave and W. Hendrickson Rd.

The project is being funded by Real Estate Excise Tax (REET) and Impact Fees. The work will be performed by Western Systems and G&G Inc.
Silberhorn Deep Well
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Phase 1 to complete drilling and testing of a new well at the City's existing Silberhorn Wellfield is expected to begin in September 2023.
This project is being funded by a loan from the Department of Commerce's Public Works Board.
