2021 Theme:  The Importance of Kindness

All fourth grade or nine-year-old students in the Sequim School District, private schools and home schooled, are invited to create an ornament to decorate the holiday tree that will be displayed in the Sequim Civic Center, 152 W. Cedar Street, from December 3, 2021, through the first of January 2022.

The theme for all student-created ornaments is The Importance of Kindness.  Any materials are acceptable for the ornaments as long as they are dry.  No live entries, candles, batteries or flammable materials are allowed.    Ornaments can be no smaller than 2”x 2” x 2” and no larger than 6”x 6” x 6”.  There are no color restrictions.   Important:  All ornaments must have a loop (wire, ribbon or cord) so they may be easily hung on the tree.

Students must turn in their ornament and entry form to their teacher by Monday, November 22, 2021.  Arts Advisory Commission Member Maggie Hall Taylor will pick them up from each school at a pre-arranged time.  The holiday tree will be on display and decorated by Friday, December 3.

All students will receive a special commemorative card as a Thank You remembrance for their participation when their ornaments are returned in January.  No financial compensation will be offered to any participant.
