The spring of 2020 will be infamous as the start of the COVID-19 pandemic -- but it is also a milestone to celebrate as the City of Sequim started producing renewable energy! A real-time dashboard shows exactly how much energy is generated by the solar panels on the Civic Center rooftop:

The dashboard can be used by City staff to monitor energy production over time and compare it to usage in the building.

The City's 50 kW solar PV installation was approved by City Council in 2019 to demonstrate the viability of solar energy generation in Sunny Sequim. It was funded one-third by a grant from the Washington Department of Commerce. The project was overseen by the Washington Department of Enterprise Services with Integrity Energy Systems as the prime contractor; Puget Sound Solar installed the Silfab panels and SolarEdge inverters.
