[ARCHIVED] Sequim Public Works Crew Sanitizes Public Areas

Sequim Public Works Crew member sanitizes a City bench

The City of Sequim has redirected the work of members of the Public Works Crew to sanitize the public spaces throughout the City.  The crew is using the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommended solution of five tablespoons of bleach per gallon of water and is spraying down benches, railings, seating areas and all touchable surfaces from Whitefeather Way to River Road.  Once sprayed the solution is left to air dry.

“The public is reminded to follow Governor Jay Inslee’s Stay Home, Stay Healthy order and to only leave their homes for essential services like visiting a grocery story or pharmacy or going to a doctor appointment.  However, it is alright for residents to go for a walk or a bike ride as long as they practice social distancing of six feet or more.  We want to make sure that the public is as safe as possible when they are in public spaces and will be sanitizing on an on-going basis as long as the 2019 Novel Coronavirus is a threat,” said Public Works Director David Garlington.
