City of Sequim Public Works Employee Al Chrisman will retire on July 10 after nearly 37 years of service to the citizens of Sequim.
Chrisman began his employment with the City on December 12, 1983 as a garbage truck driver. In 1987, he transitioned to the Wastewater Treatment Plant where he worked as an operator until 1996 when he became the Wastewater Lead. In 1998, the plant transitioned to the Water Reclamation Facility and now generates 100% reused water with Chrisman serving as the Lead.
“Sequim has been fortunate to have Al’s experience for so long. I know all of the bacteria down at the sewage plant, and all of us, will miss him dearly,” said Public Works Director David Garlington. “We thank him for his service and wish him a happy retirement.”
“Al is always there and willing to help when you need him,” added Utilities Manager Pete Tjemsland.
