The City of Sequim is seeking applicants to fill a vacant post on the Civil Service Commission.  The appointment is to fill a vacancy through December 31, 2020.  The Commissioner may then be reappointed for a six-year term ending December 31, 2026.  State law requires applicants must be a U.S. citizen, a registered voter in Clallam County, and have three years of residency in the City of Sequim preceding their appointment.

The Sequim Civil Service Commission performs certain personnel-related aspects of the Sequim Police Department, as well as serving as a review body for police disciplinary actions.  The Commission meets the first Tuesday of each month at 8:30 a.m.  Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, meetings will be held virtually until Clallam County enters into Phase 3 of Governor Jay Inslee’s Safe Start Plan.

The deadline to apply is Friday, October 30, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. To apply, please go to the City website https://www.sequimwa.gov/214/Boards-Commissions-Committees, download and complete the Application for Appointment, and send it along with your letter of intent and resume to Human Resources Manager Emily Stednick at estednick@sequimwa.gov or mail to Human Resources, 152 West Cedar Street, Sequim, WA, 98382.
