Planning Commission – The City is seeking applicants to fill two open positions. One four-year term expires December 31, 2023, and the other on December 31, 2024. Applicants must be City of Sequim residents. The Planning Commission meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. with meetings lasting one to two hours. The only extra time commitment is to review meeting materials to be prepared for Commission discussion and to attend infrequent public meetings and events as an observer. It may also conduct proceedings on specific land use applications, such as subdivisions.

Civil Service Commission – The City is seeking applicants to fill one open position with a term ending December 31, 2026. State law requires applicants must be a U.S. citizen, a registered voter in Clallam County, and have three years of residency in the City of Sequim preceding their appointment. The Sequim Civil Service Commission performs certain personnel-related aspects of the Sequim Police Department, as well as serving as a review body for police disciplinary actions. The Commission meets the first Tuesday of each month at 8:30 a.m.

Lodging Tax Advisory Committee – The City is seeking one representative to serve on the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC). The appointee must be a representative of an activity authorized to be funded by revenue received from lodging tax funds, such as a visitor information center, tourism bureau, festival, or activities that are advertised outside of the area that attracts tourists. This committee consists of five voting members appointed by the City  Council. One member must be a Sequim City Council member, who will serve as Chair. Two members must be representatives of businesses required to collect the lodging tax and two members must be persons involved in activities authorized to be funded by revenue received from lodging tax funds. The voluntary board meets on a quarterly basis to perform the duties established in RCW 67.28.1817 and Ordinance No. 2010-018.

All public meetings are currently held virtually via Zoom because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
