[ARCHIVED] Relentless Pursuit of Justice - Dangerous Career Criminal Arrested

Sequim Police Department Patch

On 03/16/2022, Sequim Detective Rick Larsen in cooperation with other OPNET Detectives, were assisted by Pierce County Department of Corrections Officers in apprehending and arresting Calvin Leroy Larson, for the previously reported theft of an excavator from the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe Healing Clinic campus; valued at $29,000, and four industrial grade riding lawnmowers from Home Depot; valued at $15,000.

Detective Larson’s investigation was extensive, and he provided the Clallam County Prosecutors Office with Probable Cause for the arrest of Calvin Leroy Larson, a Tacoma Resident who had travelled to Sequim to commit the multiple thefts.

Calvin Leroy Larson was identified through video surveillance and witness/suspect interviews.  A warrant for his arrest was issued earlier this week, and coordination began to use all available efforts to take Calvin Leroy Larson into custody in the safest manner possible.

During the subsequent arrest of Calvin Leroy Larson, a firearm was located in his possession, and charges out of Pierce County are following. He is prohibited from possessing a firearm due to an extensive criminal history of eleven previous felony convictions: including Robbery, Theft and Trafficking in Stolen Property.

The Sequim Police Department will be working with the Clallam County Prosecutor’s Office to determine if additional charges need to be filed in the case.  This case is an example of The Sequim Police Departments commitment to the relentless pursuit of justice and the dedication of its staff to not only recover these stolen items, but to have those who travel to Sequim be held accountable for their criminal conduct.
