Please join the City of Sequim for an Independence Day Celebration in Sequim on Monday, July 4 at the Water Reuse Site at Carrie Blake Park, 500 N. Blake Avenue. The Sequim City Band will kick off the celebration at 3:00 p.m. with a free concert at the James Center for the Performing Arts including a color guard presentation by the Dungeness Unit of Civil Air Patrol. The Buck Ellard Band will perform at 5:30 p.m. followed by Black Diamond Junction at 7:45 p.m. The event will culminate with 15-minute fireworks show at 10:00 p.m.
Parking is available in the Water Reuse Park, Carrie Blake Park, Trinity United Methodist Church on Blake Avenue, Olympic View Church on Brown Road, and the QFC parking lot.
Plan to spend some time in Carrie Blake Park and enjoy the many amenities available including horseshoe pits, bocce ball court, shuffleboard, gardens, off-leash dog park, pickleball courts, playground, ponds, and more.
The Sequim Valley Lions will host a beer and wine garden and a hot dog cart, and Cay Sal Pies will offer frozen pies whole or by the slice, all for purchase.
The Sequim community is reminded that the discharge of consumer fireworks is banned within the Sequim City limits. Residents and visitors are encouraged to bring a camp chair or a blanket and enjoy the community celebration.
