The Sequim Police Department will be holding a Helmet Safety Clinic for bicyclists and skateboarders on Saturday, September 7, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church parking lot located at 100 N. Blake Avenue.
The Police Department has purchased 30 skateboard helmets and 72 bicycle helmets through a $700 grant awarded by the Local Living Program though the Walmart Foundation. The helmets will be available for free to children 18 years of age or younger and developmentally disabled adults who live within the Sequim School District boundaries and are in need of a helmet. The helmets were purchased through Helmets R Us, a Tacoma non-profit company that supplies quality helmets that meet the highest safety standards at affordable prices to schools and community organizations.
All residents are encouraged to bring in their helmets for inspection and proper fit by a Police Officer.
A complimentary barbeque lunch will be hosted by the Trinity United Methodist Church.
Please contact the City of Sequim Police Department at (360) 683-7227 with questions.
