[ARCHIVED] Volunteers Clean Up Gerhardt Park as Part of National Day of Service

Sequim, WA - Over 60 community volunteers along with members of the Sequim City Council and City staff, came together on Saturday, September 14, 2013, to clean up the new Gerhardt Park as a part of the National Day of Service and Remembrance.

Color guard from Boy Scout Troop 90 started off the opening ceremonies with raising the American Flag.

Volunteers trimmed trees, groomed trails, and cleaned out buildings to begin to prepare the park for future public use.

Thank you to the United Way for helping to organize volunteer groups and for everyone who helped with the clean-up project. In addition, the City also thanks Safeway and 101 Outpost for donating water and ice for the workers.
