[ARCHIVED] Applications Due May 23 for Newly-Formed Arts Commission


The Sequim City Council has created a City Arts Advisory Commission to advise the City Council on matters related to art and culture. The Council is currently seeking applicants to serve four-year terms on this voluntary commission. At least three applicants must reside in the Sequim City limits. The additional two – four applicants must be Clallam County residents and reside within the Sequim School District boundary. The deadline for applications is Friday, May 23, 2014.

The Arts Commission members shall be appointed upon the basis of demonstrated interest in, and knowledge and support of, the arts. Responsibilities of the Commission will include: provide recommendations to the staff and City Council in connection with cultural and artistic endeavors and projects in which the City becomes involved; recommend to the City opportunities and plans to conduct, sponsor, or co-sponsor public programs to further the development and public awareness of, and interest in, the fine and performing arts; and then carry out any Council-approved plans as appropriate.
