[ARCHIVED] 70th Anniversary of D-Day Flyover and Ceremony


Sequim residents are encouraged to gather at the James Center for the Performing Arts at the Water Reuse Demonstration Site, on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. for a Commemorative Ceremony and “Diamond Four” P-51 Mustang Formation Flyover marking the 70th Anniversary of D-Day. The flyover is part of a coordinated path over Western Washington sponsored by the Historic Flight Foundation.

The ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m. and include words from Sequim City Mayor Candace Pratt, Veterans and Councilmembers Dennis Smith and Erik Erichsen, and Commander of the Jack Grennan American Legion Post 62 in Sequim Carl Bradshaw. The Marine Corp Honor Guard and a bugle performance of Taps by Carl Bradshaw will also be included in the ceremony. The Flyover is expected to take place at 10:30 a.m.
