[ARCHIVED] City of Sequim Seeks Storm Drain Inventory Volunteers

The City of Sequim is seeking 4 – 5 people to serve as Storm Drain Inventory Volunteers. These “Stormwater Stewardship” project volunteers will serve on small teams that locate and document storm drains on City streets using a map, aerial photo, GPS, and/or tablet or smart phone. Potential volunteers with experience reading maps and using smart phones or tablets are preferred. Training in procedures specific to this volunteer opportunity will be provided prior to beginning service.

The 2.5-year Stormwater Stewardship grant project is helping the City achieve its goals of keeping pollution out of our streams and drinking water aquifers. The project includes a master plan for City capital facilities and operations with the goal of protecting water quality and reducing potential damage to public property, private property, and the environment. Additional opportunities for involvement in the project will be advertised and announced on the project webpage: http://www.sequimwa.gov/index.aspx?NID=559

Applications and a volunteer job description are available online at the City’s web site at www.sequimwa.gov or from the City Administrative offices at 226 N. Sequim Ave. Please contact City Volunteer Coordinator Pam Leonard Ray at (360) 582-2447 or pleonard-ray@sequimwa.gov or City Clerk Karen Kuznek-Reese at (360) 681-3428 or kkuznek@sequimwa.gov with questions or to submit an application.
