[ARCHIVED] Draft Storm and Surface Water Master Plan Released

The City of Sequim is releasing its first stormwater management plan for public review and comment. The Storm & Surface Water Master Plan key goals are to capture and infiltrate rainwater and runoff into the ground while preventing property damage and protecting water quality in our region’s surface waters and groundwater aquifers.

The City’s engineering and environmental consultant, Herrera, Inc., will present the Master Plan at the Sequim Planning Commission meeting on Tuesday, June 2, at 6:00 p.m., at the Sequim Transit Center located at 190 W. Cedar Street. The Planning Commission will take public comment at a subsequent meeting, the date to be determined. Following the Planning Commission review the Plan will be presented to the Sequim City Council at a Study Session in late June or July.

City of Sequim Water Resource Specialist Ann Soule will host an Open House twice each week on Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and Thursdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. (or by appointment), at the City’s Interpretive Center, located at 500 N. Blake Avenue.

The public may access the Plan at the City’s website from the Stormwater Stewardship webpage: http://www.sequimwa.gov/index.aspx?nid=646
