SEQUIM – The Sequim City Council voted at the June 22, 2015 City Council meeting to enter into an employment agreement with Charlie Bush for the position of City Manager.
Bush will begin his employment with the City on August 17, 2015 and will receive an annual salary of $120,000.
Bush comes to Sequim from Issaquah, Washington where he currently serves as the Development Services Director. Previous experience includes Deputy City Administrator for the City of Issaquah, City Administrator in Prosser, Washington, and Assistant to the City Manager and Intergovernmental Management Analyst for Bellevue, Washington. Prior to moving to Washington, Bush held public positions in Phoenix and Glendale, Arizona.
“The City Council is looking forward to working with Charlie. He is a good fit for our community with 17 years of public service experience including small and large cities. Charlie is young and energetic and excited about living and working in Sequim,” said Mayor Candace Pratt.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve in the City of Sequim. Sequim is a community always looking to improve and I got into public service to help communities better serve people. It’s a perfect fit. I am energized by the challenges and the opportunities in Sequim today, and to those that are ahead,” Bush said.
Bush replaces Steve Burkett who will retire on June 30, 2015. Burkett has served as the Sequim City Manager since October 2009.
The City Council appointed City Attorney Craig Ritchie to serve as Interim City Manager from July 1 through August 16, 2015.
