SEQUIM—The City of Sequim has promoted Public Works Sewer Lead Ty Brown to the position of Public Works Operations Manager effective May 1, 2016. Brown replaces Mike Brandt who retired at the end of January.
“Ty interviewed in a highly competitive environment for the position. His familiarity with the City’s Public Works operations and his fantastic work ethic make him the right person for the job,” said Public Works Director David Garlington.
Brown is a fifth generation Sequim native and a graduate of Sequim High School. He began working for the City of Sequim in 2011. He is a graduate of West Coast Training in Heavy Equipment Operations and Maintenance and has a Washington State Waste Water Collection Certificate Level 1.
“I grew up here and I have a great passion for the City of Sequim. I enjoy managing big projects and I hope to help facilitate communication amongst staff and with the community,” Brown said. “Sequim is growing and I am looking forward to being a part of shaping how that future growth will look in our city while maintaining the quality of the community.”
