[ARCHIVED] Water Main Break on 800 Block of E. Washington Place

Precautionary Boil Water Advisory on Limited Customers

SEQUIM—The City of Sequim Water System had a water line break today on the 800 block of East Washington Place that caused a loss in pressure in part of its water system. Approximately eight customers on the system have been advised, until further notice, to boil their tap water before consuming.

All of the City of Sequim’s Water System Customers located at 804, 806, 810, 812, 814, 816, 818, and 820 East Washington Place (North of Les Schwab and East of Brown Road) are inclusive in the advisory. This advisory is a precaution because contaminants could have entered the water lines when the system lost pressure.

The Washington State Department of Health advised City of Sequim residents in the affected area to use boiled water or use purchased bottled water for drinking, brushing teeth, dishwashing, preparing food, and making ice. Water should be boiled briskly for one minute and allowed to cool before use.

The water line has been repaired. City crews are flushing the system. Sampling will be performed and the results known within the next 24 hours. Affected residents will be notified directly when boiling water is no longer needed.

Please call the City of Sequim Public Works Department at (360) 683-4908 with questions.
