[ARCHIVED] Man Arrested in Sequim for Possessing Sexually Explicit Depictions of Minors

On 2/17/2017 at approximately 12:30 PM Sequim Police arrested Charles G. Landrum for possession of sexually explicit depictions of a minor. Landrum is a transient 53 years-old male, who currently lives in his vehicle.

The investigation started on 12/13/2016 when the Sequim Police Department was provided a tip from the Port Angeles Police Department. The tip was initially provided to The Port Angeles Police Department by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and provided details that Landrum was viewing/uploading child pornography.

Investigators seized Landrum’s cell phones and when they were examined under the authority of a search warrant, evidence of child pornography was found. The images/depictions located on Landrum’s cell phone were of unknown prepubescent females engaged in sexually explicit behavior.

Investigators have found no evidence that any of the minors depicted in these images are of local victims, and believe that they are most likely of eastern European origin. The police department routinely works with NCMEC, as well as other local and federal agencies to aggressively investigate all crimes against children.

Landrum was booked into the Clallam County Correctional Facility for Possession of depictions of minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct (RCW 9.68A.070).
