SEQUIM—Join volunteers from the Olympic Peninsula Gardens for a Weeding Party at the Terrace Gardens in Carrie Blake Community Park on Friday, April 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.
The party will begin with an introduction to the garden and plans for its future, a short talk on common Sequim weeds and how to recognize and eradicate them, and will include weeding the lavender beds in the garden. Helpers will be able to take home the “volunteer” lavender plants that have seeded themselves, to plant in their own gardens and will receive a tutorial on how to take care of the small lavender plants they are collecting.
Helpers should bring weeding tools, gloves, and plastic bags to take home their lavender plants. The group will meet at the garden steps to the west of the James Center for the Performing Arts Band Shell.
