[ARCHIVED] Sequim Civic Center Permanent Art Installation Opening – March 2nd

The City of Sequim will hold the Civic Center Permanent Art Installation opening in conjunction with the March 2, First Friday Art Walk. The City Arts Advisory Commission (CAAC) will host a private Artists’ Reception from 4 to 5 PM in the Civic Center Chambers followed by the public opening from 5 to 7 PM. The opening, hosted by the CAAC, Artists and City Staff, will be held on the first and second floors of the Civic Center.
The exhibit highlights the original art from Pacific Northwest artists. The pieces tie into the history of Sequim and themes that were incorporated into the Civic Center plaza design including: friendly community, bountiful prairie, innovative strong people, magnificent mountains, natural beauty, quiet waters and sunshine.
Civic Center and the Community Plaza artists include Lynne Armstrong, Bridget Baker, Jinx Bryant, Sally Cays, Linda Collins Chapman, Gina Cox, Ken Dvorak, Marilyn Evans, Mary Franchini, Ross Hamilton, Virginia Jefferson, Judy Larimore, Cindy Mangutz, R. Evan Miller, Ron E. Reynolds, Bob Rigg, Ryoko Toyama, Charlotte Watts and the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe.
A Sequim Civic Art book featuring the Civic Center and Community Plaza exhibits and the artists will be released at the event.
