[ARCHIVED] Get Into the Sequim of Things – Healthy Solutions on Our Way to Turning 100!

The City of Sequim announces the March wellness workshop “Ten Tools to Turn Your life Around” presented by Dr. Monica Dixon, Friday March 23, 2012 at 12:00 noon, at the Sequim Transit Center.

“Ten Tools To Turn Your Life Around.” Did you wake up one day to suddenly find your lap lying on your knees? Did your "Get up and Go" get up and leave years ago? How can we live energetic, happy and healthy lives when all we want is a long nap? You will learn ten tools that are the most effective things you can do for yourself. They are simple and inexpensive ways to take your health and happiness into your own hands and make real, immediate changes to your life and your body--now!

For over 25 years, Dr. Monica Dixon has motivated, empowered and energized audiences across the country to change their lives in powerful ways. An internationally published author, media spokesperson, health researcher and consultant, Dr. Dixon has won numerous awards for her leadership in developing innovative solutions to life's most vexing problems.

As the City of Sequim approaches its 100th birthday, the City’s Centennial team is partnering with the Dungeness Valley Health and Wellness Clinic to bring a series of health and wellness classes to the people of Sequim. The classes began in January 2012 and will continue through 2013.

The Healthy Solutions on Our Way to Turning 100! series comes as the nation is at a “tipping point.” A large percentage of the country is obese, many people have poor nutritional habits and many are underinsured or uninsured. Learning good eating habits, incorporating more exercise into daily life, and developing stress reduction techniques are tools that will benefit everyone in our community. With knowledge it is up to each individual to incorporate that knowledge and to make a change. It is also key that we encourage each other to make and maintain these changes.

The series of workshops and classes is being coordinated by Barb Paschal of the Dungeness Valley Heatlh and Wellness Clinic as part of the clinic’s outreach program to provide education to the Sequim-Dungeness Valley community. Look for information on upcoming classes and workshops.
