[ARCHIVED] City of Sequim to Begin 2018 Pavement Preservation Project

The City of Sequim will rehabilitate selected sections of City streets beginning August 13, 2018.  The work will take place Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and is expected to take one to two weeks to complete and is weather dependent.

Work will be performed at the following locations:

•South 3rd Avenue between West Brownfield and West Reservoir Road
•West Reservoir Road between South 3rd Avenue and South 7th Avenue
•South 7th Avenue between Happy Valley Road and West Reservoir Road
•The intersection of South River Road and East Silberhorn Road
•West Brackett Road  between North Priest Road and North 9th Avenue
•West Deseret Avenue
•West Spruce Street between Honeycomb Circle and North 9th Avenue
•North 9th Avenue between West Spruce Street and West Helen Court
•Washington Harbor Loop
•City of Sequim Water Reclamation Facility

Residents can expect delays, localized closures, and detours during work hours. Most notable, on Monday, August 13, Brackett Road between North Priest Road and North 9th Avenue will be closed to traffic. Detour routes will be provided. Resident access will be provided however residents are encouraged to use alternative routes for access where possible.

Pavement rehabilitation includes pavement milling, reconstruction, pavement overlay, and subgrade repair.  The projects are being funded with Transportation Benefit District and Utility funds.  The work will be performed by Lakeside Industries, Inc.
