National Police Week
The exhibit is on display in conjunction with National Police Week. In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15 as Peace Officer’s Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as National Police Week.
There have been 27 Line of Duty Deaths in the U.S. this year as of 3/19/19. The Clallam County Sheriff’s office will host a Bell Ringing Ceremony in Liberty Park (next to the Clallam County
Courthouse in Port Angeles) on Friday, May 17 at 1:30 p.m. to honor those who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
