[ARCHIVED] Sequim City Council Elects Mayor Armacost and Deputy Mayor Ted Miller

The Sequim City Council elected William Armacost as Mayor and Ted Miller as Deputy Mayor at the City Council meeting on January 13.  Both are two-year terms.  The City Mayor presides at City Council meetings and represents the City at ceremonial and intergovernmental meetings.  The Deputy Mayor presides in the Mayor’s absence.

Armacost was appointed to the Council in July of 2018 and was elected to Council in 2019.  He has represented the Council as the City Arts Advisory Commission liaison and on the Sequim Health and Housing Collaborative, Economic Development Council, and the North Olympic Legislative Alliance.

Miller was elected to the Council in 2009 and is currently serving his third term.  He served as Mayor Pro Tem (now Deputy Mayor) in 2012 through 2013 and again in 2016 through 2017.  He has represented the Council on the City Finance Committee, Clallam County Law and Justice Council, Peninsula Responders Emergency Program, Homelessness Task Force, Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee, Growth Management Act Regional Committee, Clallam County Disability Board, North Olympic Development Council and Clallam Transit System Board.

Councilors Take the Oath of Office

City Council members William Armacost, Jennifer States, Troy Tennison, and Tom Ferrell were sworn into office by City Clerk Sara McMillon at the January 13 City Council Meeting.

Armacost was appointed to the Council in July of 2018 and was elected to the Council in 2019.  States was appointed to the Council in January of 2018 and was elected to the Council in 2019.  Tennison and Ferrell were both elected to the Council in 2019.

The Sequim City Council meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Sequim Civic Center located at 152 West Cedar Street.  City Council agendas and minutes are posted on the City’s website at www.sequimwa.gov.
