[ARCHIVED] Sequim City Council Appoints Charisse Deschenes as Interim City Manager

The Sequim City Council voted to appoint Assistant City Manager Charisse Deschenes as the Interim City Manager, effective April 18, pending a contract approval.  Deschenes will serve as the Interim City Manager until a permanent City Manager can be appointed.  City Manager Charlie Bush announced on February 10 that he would resign his position effective April 17.

Deschenes has served as the City of Sequim Assistant City Manager since September 2018.  She began her work with the City in 2014 as a Senior Planner and was promoted to Assistant to the City Manager in 2017.  She has a Bachelor of Science in Park & Resource Management from Kansas State University and a Master of Business Administration from Benedictine College. Deschenes has completed the Senior Executive Institute from the Weldon Cooper School of Public Management and the Northwest Women’s Leadership Academy.  She is currently enrolled in the two-year Leadership International City County Management Association (ICMA) and is expected to complete the program in October 2020.
