Crime Prevention Services & Programs
Currently 20 neighborhoods in Sequim participate in this program. Two neighborhoods have also elected to become Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) trained. Neighborhoods are also encouraged to become trained in emergency preparedness.
Business Crime Prevention Program
When you go to work, don’t leave your crime prevention sense at home. Almost any crime that can happen at your home or in your neighborhood can happen in the workplace. But common-sense prevention can help make life at work safer for all.
Vacation Home Checks
Citizen volunteers (VIPS) will patrol homes within the city while owners are on vacation. To request a vacation home check, submit a completed request form (PDF) to the Police Department, located at 152 W. Cedar Street.
Protect Yourself Against Scams & Schemes
Identity theft and scams are a real and growing problem in our community. Get your free annual credit report and monitor your accounts. If you receive a check in the mail, a call on the phone or a knock at the door - know when to rip up the check, hang up the phone or shut the door.
If you are a victim of an internet scam, use this link to file a complaint with the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center.
IC3 accepts online Internet crime complaints from either the actual victim or from a third party to the complainant. They can best process your complaint if they receive accurate and complete information from you. Therefore, they request you provide the following information when filing a complaint:

- Financial transaction information (e.g., account information, transaction date and amount, who received the money)
- Subject's name, address, telephone, email, website, and IP address
- Specific details on how you were victimized
- Email header(s)
- Any other relevant information you believe is necessary to support your complaint
