Business Crime Prevention Program

When you go to work, don’t leave your crime prevention sense at home. Almost any crime that can happen at your home or in your neighborhood can happen in the workplace. Common-sense prevention can help make life at work safer for all.

Vacation Home Checks

Citizen volunteers (VIPS) will patrol homes within the city while owners are on vacation. To request a vacation home check, submit a completed request form (PDF) to the Police Department, located at 152 W. Cedar Street.

Protect Yourself Against Scams & Schemes

Identity theft and scams are a real and growing problem in our community. Get your free annual credit report and monitor your accounts. If you receive a check in the mail, a call on the phone, or a knock at the door - know when to rip up the check, hang up the phone, or shut the door.

If you are a victim of an internet scam, use this link to file a complaint with the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center.
