Current and Upcoming Events

A new exhibit, Rocks, Gems & Jewels,  opens on October 2, 2018. The show features works of art from Bob Riley; Gail McLain; the team of Beverly Beighle, Sherry Nagel and Lindy Feigenbutz; Pat Herkal, Kathy Schreiner, Mark Weiss, Eva Kozun, Paulette Hill, Scott Thornhill, David Johannessohn, Barbara Neswald, Katherine Loveland, Evan Miller, Mary Marsh and Randy Radock. Please join us on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 5 to 7pm at the Civic Center and meet the artists. 

The Art Talk on the Art Walk takes place during the First Friday event on October 5. The brochure (PDF) explains the presentations taking place.

About the Commission

Arts Commission

City Arts Advisory Commission members advise the City Council on matters related to art and culture. Commission members serve four-year terms on this voluntary seven member commission.

Duties and Authority

The Commission responsibilities are to provide recommendations to the staff and City Council in connection with cultural and artistic endeavors and projects in which the City becomes involved. A full list of the authority and duties is available in Ordinance (PDF) No. 2014-008.

Resolution (PDF) No. R2014-10 was adopted by the City Council which provides a Public Art Policy to assist the Arts Commission in its duties.
